Avanafil
Avanafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction. MedlinePlus explains that it works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation and does not cure erectile dysfunction or increase sexual desire on its own. Avana supplies avanafil alone as a tablet, while Super Avana pairs it with the short-acting SSRI dapoxetine.

100mg + 60mg
Designed to support male sexual performance to manage endurance and alleviate Erection failure.
Key points
- Avanafil’s DailyMed label reports headache, flushing, nasal congestion, nasopharyngitis and back pain as adverse reactions occurring in 2% or more of patients in its trials.
- The same label states that avanafil is rapidly absorbed, reaching a median peak concentration 30 to 45 minutes after a dose taken without food.
How the body handles avanafil
Avanafil is cleared predominantly by hepatic metabolism, mainly by the CYP3A4 enzyme and to a minor extent by the CYP2C isoform. Its terminal elimination half-life is approximately 5 hours.
The nitrate interaction and other urgent warnings
Avanafil must not be taken by anyone using organic nitrates in any form; the label states that this combination is contraindicated because avanafil can potentiate the hypotensive effect of nitrates. An erection that persists longer than 4 hours needs immediate medical assistance, because without prompt treatment it can cause penile tissue damage and permanent loss of potency.
Avanafil is also known regionally as Vantra, a brand named in the Emirates Drug Establishment product directory.
