Digestive Health
Tablets, capsules and other medicines for acid reflux, indigestion, motility problems and bowel conditions, spanning familiar names such as Nexium, Prilosec, Protonix and Motilium, alongside treatments for constipation and inflammatory bowel disease.

Prednisolone Tablets
5mg · 10mg · 20mg · 40mg
Prednisolone tablets for inflammatory conditions and allergies. It dampens the immune response, so it should be tapered off rather than stopped abruptly.

Roxithromycin Tablets
150mg
Roxithromycin tablets for bacterial and respiratory tract infections. It stops bacteria from making proteins they need to multiply.
Key points
- Digestive health spans more than indigestion and reflux: it covers the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
- Dyspepsia describes a group of upper-abdominal symptoms rather than a single cause, so treatment depends on what is behind it.
- Reflux treatment commonly includes medicines that reduce how much acid the stomach produces.
- Investigation and treatment for digestive symptoms differ by cause, since overlapping conditions can look similar at first.
Proton pump inhibitors, acid reducers and motility medicines
Nexium (esomeprazole), Prilosec (omeprazole), Protonix (pantoprazole), Pariet (rabeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole) and Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) are all proton pump inhibitors, used for Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease, peptic ulcer disease or erosive oesophagitis. Zantac (ranitidine) is listed for the same acid reflux and ulcer symptoms. Motilium (domperidone) and Reglan (metoclopramide) work on gut movement rather than acid, and they are used for nausea, vomiting and gastroparesis instead.
Bowel, biliary and infection-linked medicines
Duphalac (lactulose) and Motegrity (prucalopride) are used for constipation, the latter specifically for chronic idiopathic constipation. Asacol (mesalazine) and Budez CR (budesonide) carry ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease relationships. Bentyl, which contains Dicyclomine, is listed for irritable bowel syndrome. Urso and Actigall both contain Ursodeoxycholic Acid and attach to primary biliary cholangitis and gallstone dissolution, while Questran, containing Colestyramine, is listed for hypercholesterolaemia and pruritus. Biaxin (clarithromycin) and Noroxin (norfloxacin) round out the range through Helicobacter pylori infection and traveller’s diarrhoea.
