Contraindications
hypersensitivity to aceclofenac or any excipients; active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer or haemorrhage; hypersensitivity reactions to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs; hepatic failure and renal failure; established congestive heart failure (NYHA II-IV); ischaemic heart disease; peripheral arterial disease; cerebrovascular disease; history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy; active bleeding or bleeding disorders; third trimester of pregnancy
Precautions and warnings
lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary; avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs including cyclooxygenase-2 selective inhibitors; caution in elderly patients due to increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation; caution in patients with bronchial asthma as NSAIDs may precipitate bronchospasm; renal function should be monitored in patients with renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment; may trigger an attack in patients with hepatic porphyria; caution in patients with hypertension or congestive heart failure; increased risk of serious skin reactions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome; may reversibly inhibit platelet aggregation; not recommended in children due to lack of clinical data; avoid use in varicella as NSAIDs may worsen serious cutaneous and soft tissue infections; patients with systemic lupus erythematosus or mixed connective tissue disease may have increased risk of aseptic meningitis

Mechanism of action

Age restrictions

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Contraindicated during third trimester of pregnancy. Should not be given during first and second trimester unless clearly necessary. May impair female fertility and is not recommended in women attempting to conceive. Use should be avoided during breast-feeding.
